K+K+ Congratulations on getting a Sea Dweller. It's a common problem getting a good fit on a circa 6.5" wrists. Two fixes I know of are flipping the clasp or if that doesn't fix the fit, then removal of a permanent link on six o'clock side.
Sea Dweller 16600! I’m playing around with the bracelet and trying to get the fit right but I can’t get it tight enough. I’m at the point where I can’t take out anymore links via screw (at least that I can tell) and any further micro adjustments on the clasp would leave it really lob sided. It fits neatly under a shirt cuff with no issues, and I would say the lugs are better proportioned than the sub due to the SD having a more pronounced tapered lug. I previously wore a 116710ln (not a sub, but being real it’s almost the same watch as a 116610ln aesthetically speaking) and the Sea Dweller replaced it as my favourite watch to wear. It will easily fit under a shirt cuff, without feeling intrusive. This watch will be a worthy companion for anyone who is considering the Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 as their next piece, or as their only piece.
When I have my shirts tailored I will ask for him to move the left cuff button slightly to allow a watch more room under the cuff. Usually it is somewhere around a quarter inch based on the shirt and how far he thinks he can move it without it being noticeable. I have worn a 5 digit sub (close to your gmt’s size) and a 16600. I LOVED the Sea Dweller. Heres what I found the most striking/different: the thickness is 14.8mm which is around 2mm taller than the subs, gmt, or bb58. I just got a 2007 16600 Sea Dweller for all of the reasons you described in your review: smaller lugs, date without cyclops, true "tool" watch. I got a decent deal, which I posted about in this forum.
For ‘smart casual’ it is so flexible with the splash of colour, but slim profile that slides under the cuff so easily. Probably my most worn Rolex outside! (more than my 16600)The Rolex 16600 Sea-Dweller is the ultimate dive watch and is perfect for both professional and recreational divers, as well as any watch enthusiast or collector. If you are considering purchasing one of these watches, this guide will cover important information that you need to know.
I just bought a 16600 for pretty much the exact same reason. Wanted a date without a cyclops and wanted it to fit easily under a buttoned cuff. The only major cosmetic difference is that on mine the minute markers only go to 15 rather than around the entire bezel. Congratulations on getting a Sea Dweller.
